How to Find Your Google Place ID (Step by Step)

Your Google Place ID is a short code (it usually starts with ChIJ…) that uniquely identifies your business on Google. ReviewKit uses it to build your one-tap review link, so customers land directly on your Google review form.

The easy way: In ReviewKit, if you see the "Search for your business" box on the Settings page, you don't need any of this - just start typing your business name, pick yourself from the dropdown, and we grab your Place ID automatically.

If you'd rather find it yourself, here's how.

Step 1 - Open Google's Place ID Finder

Go to Google's free Place ID Finder. It's a small map with a search box at the top.

Step 2 - Search for your business

In the search box on the map, type your business name followed by your city (for example, Summit Plumbing & Heating, Austin).

Step 3 - Select your business

Click your business in the dropdown. A marker drops on the map and a small info window opens.

Step 4 - Copy your Place ID

The info window shows your Place ID - a string that usually looks like ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4. Copy the whole thing.

Step 5 - Paste it into ReviewKit

Back in ReviewKit, paste the Place ID into the Google Place ID field in Settings and save. That's it - your review link is ready.

Troubleshooting

  • I can't find my business. Make sure you have a Google Business Profile and that it's verified. Only listed businesses have a Place ID.
  • My ID doesn't start with ChIJ. That's fine - paste whatever the finder shows.
  • I have a Google Maps link instead. You can paste your full Google Maps URL into ReviewKit too; we'll extract the ID where possible.
